Department Of History

Vision

To make students aware of past and enable to understand the present and help them look towards glorious future of Indian history in the context of world history.


Mission

  • Transform the students into citizens who are critically informed about the past and its consequences for the present
  • Promote studies in history, society and Indian culture.
  • Empower students to cope with the challenges of globalization by instilling in them a life-long passion for learning about the past.

    •             The idea of history is that we can actually learn more about the past. The department of History launched its journey in 1983 as General subject and marched ahead for pretty long time as General subject only. Besides teaching, the department organizes class wise seminar, debate and prepares students for Quiz competition and Group discussion, so that they can keep pace with the time. The students can express their views independently through their writing in the wall Magazine and teachers guide them properly in this regard.
    The department seeks to educate students in the complexities of historical inquiry, to develop their critical thinking skills, and to improve their understanding of the world around them. Overall, a healthy academic environment and a cordial teacher student relation is maintained in the department.
